On 20th May 2024, CEAMS was one of the sponsors of Composites UK second Parliamentary Reception on the Terrance Pavilion at the Houses of Parliament, London. The reception was co-hosted by Sarah Jones MP, the Shadow Minister for Industry and Decarbonisation and The Rt Hon Margaret Beckett GBE MP.

The underlying message from the event was was that composites are critical to delivery of the UK’s net-zero targets.

Other key topics included:

• The widening skills crisis and how Government policy can help attract new blood into the industry.

• Accepting that critical on-shoring can be just as important as critical imports in protecting the UK economy if companies move from a ‘just-in-time’ model to a ‘just-in-case’ model and how the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will affect us all.
